A few more little somethin' somethins'

The past two days I have been working on two new items to add to www.overthemoongoods.com.  First, I'm excited to share with you 'Luscious Laces'.  These laces are made to order, 1/2" wide cotton shoelaces in a variety of colors, patterns and sizes.  You can choose your background desired color and I will surprise you with the fabric pattern.  To order, choose from the following background colors:  Black, Red, Orange, Yellow and Light or Dark Blue, Green, Pink, Aqua or Purple.  Then specify the desired lace length, ranging from 14", perfect for your infant or toddler's shoes to 50", perfect for your Chuck Taylors.  Priced at only $7.00 for the 14" to 30" length and $8.50 for the 36"-50" length, they are as much fun to give as to receive!

Over the Moon Goods' Luscious Laces
The second item that I am also excited about is our 'Beautimus Belts'.  I started by making these belts for my girls and they encouraged me to make more.  Similar to our Luscious Laces, these belts are made to order from 100% cotton fabric.    These ruched belts are constructed from two coordinating fabrics and are fantastic paired with jeans.  You can choose your desired color(s) from the following background colors:  Black, Red, Orange, Yellow and Light or Dark Blue, Green, Pink, Aqua or Purple.  Then specify belt size.  XS, S, M, L and XL (ranging from waist sizes of 24 1/2"-38 1/2")  Priced at only $15.00 each, these are a great bargain and would be another great item to give or receive.

'Beautimus Belts', and yes according to the Urban Dictionary, 'beautimus' IS a word.

Workday

Today I am snug at home.  Outside the wind is howling and I can see snow.  I don't think I am ready for that.  So I have opted to stay in and dig into the long list of project ideas I have.  For now, I thought I would show a few pictures of my new favorite little workspace.

A cup of coffee is never far away.

I couldn't have a work space without a red chair, or a computer nearby.

A little box of inspiration, I can't seem to let the box get empty...I LOVE to replenish it often.

A little something I have been working on.

The past several weeks, I have spent a lot of time perusing thru books and patterns and magazines for inspiration.  I started with a few pillows and then I became absorbed with crafting different lap quilts and throws.  Tomorrow, I plan to create a few other items and I will show those when I am done.  For now, I wanted to share what I have stacked around my work space.

so many beautiful colors and patterns

'Thru the Woods' hand designed and appliqued throw, backed in super soft chocolate polar fleece.

'Bora Bora', a festive variety of hand-dyed batik fabric, lightly quilted.

"Spa Day", a mixture of rich chocolate brown and aqua soft cotton fabrics, backed in chocolate brown and aqua print fabric.

One of my daughter's favorites, 'Morocco', tans, greens, browns and blues in spa tile, paisley and medallion prints, all lightly quilted.

'Daydream', cuddle up with a good book, or take a nap and dream.  Bright orange, pink, blue and green each paired with black to make a vibrant display.

Another favorite, 'Haight Ashbury', eclectic pink and brown prints.  My youngest keeps trying to steal it for her room.

'Bedford Falls', vintage inspired, hand appliqued, timeless.

"Daydream" in provencal blues and yellows.  Add a little whimsy to your French Country room.

'Metro', graphic black and white pattern with delicious green circles to warm the edges.

A new venture.

Over the Moon Goods is the creative brainchild of me, a 40-something year old woman who found herself at a crossroads.  Years spent professionally behind a desk shoving paper from one stack to the next, I yearned to spend more time indulging my creative side.  The real estate market in a slump, I knew that my previous artistic outlet, redecorating, remodeling and/or building various real estate holdings, was not an option.  I needed something on a smaller (and less risky) scale.

So I gave up my day job pushing papers and I began to dream.  What inspired me?  If free time is more readily available, how did I want to spend it?

As a child I was mesmerized by the textile wares that my Grandma Beuna would create.  At the age of 10 she taught me how to use the sewing machine and I was hooked.  She was a genius at crafting something out of a few swatches of yard goods.  When she died, I inherited the trunks and boxes that had once been her sewing room.  Sadly, circumstances and daily life commitments had robbed me of the energy and time to nurture my inner seamstress.   Now that I was starting this new phase of my life, I unearthed those boxes and trunks, and began to sort thru the treasure trove of vintage buttons, fabrics, and notions.  I spent days sorting and organizing her mass accumulation, and in those boxes I found inspiration for Over the Moon Goods.

My goal is to create unique, one of a kind items for you and for your home.  I promise to create products that feature fresh designs, colors and patterns created into stylish and appealing items.  I will feature those items on this blog, as well as on our website:  www.overthemoongoods.com   I'm new at all of this, so I hope you keep checking back to see where my artistic path takes me.  It is all a work in progress, but I am enjoying it immensely.  Thank you for sharing this journey with me.
